"Episode 0" (프롤로그; Peurollogeu, literally "Prologue") is the first released chapter of True Beauty by Yaongyi, detailing the events before the webtoon's first official chapter. The chapter introduces Jungyeong Lim, age 21, an Instagram star due to her good looks. The chapter also introduces Jungyeong's close friend Woong, with whom she attends school.

Summary[]
Jugyeong refuses to give her cell number to a passerby.
The chapter opens in Gangnam, as people watch and whisper about 21-year-old Jugyeong Lim while she walks down the sidewalk. A man approaches Jugyeong, taken by her beauty, and asks for her number. Jugyeong rejects him, sighing. She wonders internally about the sheer number of men who have requested her number that day. The webtoon introduces her as a "universally recognized goddess".
Jugyeong then enters a Bugstar Coffee shop, to the delight of the barista, and asks for chocolate frappachino with extra whipped cream. The barista excitedly declares that "the goddess is here!" and serves Jugyeong her drink with a mountain of whipped cream on top. She declares that she is used to people being incredibly kind to her. With her drink in hand, Jugyeong enters a classroom and sits with her friend Woong, who had called her over. Woong assesses that, due to the sheer amount of whipped cream on the drink, the barista is romantically interested in Jugyeong, but she herself rejects the suggestion. Woong then points out how well Jugyeong's latest Instagram photo is doing, cooing over the fact that her close friend is an Instagram celebrity.

Jugyeong waves off her excitement, and mentions that she has gotten a message from a popular K-pop idol named "XX Han" the day prior. Woong is overcome with excitement and shock, but Jugyeong feels awkward about the situation. While in class, Jugyeong gets a message from the department representative. Both Jugyeong and Woong are annoyed by the message, with Woong noting the representative's creepy behavior, as he seemingly plans these gatherings weekly.

While at Gangnam Barbeque, the drunk representative states that Jugyeong hasn't had enough to drink and that she hasn't been responding to his text messages. Jugyeong, uncomfortable, says that she thinks he's had too much to drink, but he responds that, when Jugyeong's around, he's always sober. Woong is also visibly annoyed with the representatives behavior.

Going home that night, Jugyeong declares that, while being beautiful is difficult, she doesn't necessarily hate it, either. She enters her house, drunk, calling to her mother that she's home. She flops onto her bed before remembering that she hadn't updated her Instagram for the day. She quickly takes and uploads a mirror selfie, which gets 700+ likes almost instantly. Looking at the photo, Jugyeong explains that her wonderful life lasts only as long as her makeup is on. When she washes it off, her face is no longer beautiful, revealing her without makeup. Jugyoung introducing herself. "Hi there, I'm Jugyeong, 21 years old." The episode ends with a panel showing one side being Jugyeong with makeup and the other side without.
