Appearance

Jinsu is of relatively average build and height. He has a trademark snaggletooth. He initially had black hair, blemished skin, and thick eyebrows. His sense of fashion was outdated often wore mismatched clothes. After Jugyeong helped him transform, he concealed his blemishes and contoured his face with makeup, trimmed his eyebrows, and dyed his hair a warm, golden brown color. He also adopted an appropriate fashion style that matched his body frame.

Personality

Jinsu has a very kind and generous personality. Though he wishes to become more outgoing, he lacked self-confidence and preferred to keep to himself. He did not believe anyone would be willing to date him with his appearance. After his transformation, Jinsu gained confidence and self-respect.

Relationships

Jugyeong Lim

Jinsu and Jugyeong share a class together and are in the same major. They decided to work together on a group presentation. Jinsu knew of Jugyeong before they were properly acquainted because of her reputation and her Nstagram account. Acknowledging her fashion sense and knowledge of makeup, Jinsu solicited her help in transforming his appearance to win Sujin's heart. She helped him choose an outfit to wear to a party. Despite her efforts, Jinsu failed to attract any female attention at the gathering. As he mused aloud how he could never achieve outer beauty like Seojun, Jugyeong decided to take more extreme measures. She took him to a salon to get his hair properly styled and dyed, introduced him to Pilsoo to find clothes that suited his body, and finally used her makeup skills to transform his face.

Sujin Kang

Jinsu was romantically attracted to Sujin. They originally met at an online game gathering. Because she liked fashionable and good-looking men, Jinsu did his best to accommodate her preferences. Despite his best efforts, Sujin rejected him.

Girlfriend

Shortly after Jinsu transformed his appearance and was rejected by Sujin, a freshman girl from his community college approached him and confessed her feelings. They courted and eventually began a relationship.

Pilsoo

As a favor to Jugyeong, Pilsoo assisted Jinsu in purchasing new clothes at his store. After several failed attempts, Pilsoo finally found a style that matched Jinsu's appearance.

• Jinsu means "launching, antilogarithm, distillate, pith, rare dainties" (진수).
• Kim means "laver, steam, chance, reek, fume" (김).
