Jooheon Lee is the widowed, famous actor and the father of Suho Lee and Selena Lee. He works in both Korea and Japan.

Appearance

Jooheon Lee has ash and warm brown, hazel eyes. He has a striking jawline and looks almost identical to Suho Lee. He's described as a very handsome man and Suho inherits many of his features.

Personality

Not much is known about Jooheon's personality but, as Suho Lee recalls, in episode 37, Jooheon is seen talking about his wife -Yuko Lee- on television and telling her how much he loved her. He was also caught lying in the same episode by telling Selena and Suho that what the media claims about him and his co-star dating is false. Despite this, he loved and still loves his two children.

Background

Jooheon Lee is a very famous actor- often appearing in films and advertisements. He was a 'heart-throb' in the 90's (as Jugyeong's mother said) and he was born in Korea. After his wife died, he drank alcohol to help him get through but he grew addicted. Luckily, this ceased and he continued to appear in films/ads etc. Lee works in both Japan and Korea. Currently, he has fallen off a horse whilst shooting a movie and is in a coma.

In the Drama, not only is he a famous actor but he is also the CEO of MOVE Entertainment.

It was revealed in Episode 11 of the drama that he was the cause of Seyeon's death because he ordered his employee Director Oh to Spread fake news about Seyeon being accused of bullying to divert the people's attention from his scandal involving a relationship with his co-actress to the point that a lot of hate comments pushed Seyeon to commit suicide, resulting to Suho Lee and Seojun Han being enemies. Also, he plagiarized Seyeon's song Starlight.[1]

Relationships

Jooheon was married to Yuko Lee, but she died from cancer. A few months after her death, his coworker Ayeong made romantic advances toward him and that affected Suho because he got angry and ignored Seyeon's call.

Suho Lee

Years later, Jooheon moved to Japan to continue his acting career, leading Suho to move back to Korea. Eventually, Suho decided to reconcile with his father, most likely due to Jooheon's declining health. On Christmas Day, Suho received news that Jooheon had been knocked unconscious falling from a horse during a movie shoot in Japan. He sent Seojun to meet Jugyeong, with whom he had arranged a date, and flew to Japan immediately. Deciding to stay by Jooheon's side after the accident, Suho flew back to Korea to pack his things and say goodbye to his friends, including Jugyeong and Seojun.

Wife

Yuko Lee was the name of his wife and Jooheon talked a lot about her in an interview (episode 37) and talks about how she always woke up early if he had a shoot to make lunches for him and his co-workers. He even sent her an emotional message through the TV to her personally. Yuko unfortunately passed away due to cancer and Jooheon was in despair so he became an alcoholic. Later, he began to pursue his career again to fend for his family.

Selena Lee

His daughter is none other than Selena Lee (aka Jugyeong 's inspiration). She is a famous makeup artist and has a large fanbase. She is also Suho's older sister.

Etymology

• Jooheon means "main, week, state, province, master, share, county, canton, annotation, shire, land, coomonwealth, vermilion, sandbank, eparchy, vilayet, prism" (주) (ju) and "old" (헌) (heon).
• Lee means "this, two, person, reason, interest, teeth/tooth/toothing, profit, principle, dent, louse, cog, broken edges, knot, crumb, village, mile, chopper, second" (이).
