Sujin Kang was a student at Saebom High School who is currently a social media influencer. Despite having a seemingly perfect life, Sujin deals with an alcoholic and abusive mother, a broken family, bulimia disorder, and an abusive boyfriend.
Appearance[]
Unlike Jugyeong, Sujin is naturally beautiful. She has notably small pores, fair skin, and large gray eyes, which she enhances with makeup. She often wears tight-fitting, revealing clothes to show her slim body and voluptuous curves. Her attire is usually from high-end brands. She has long black hair, tall stature, and an identifying mole under her left eye. Sujin has later cut most of her hair.
Background[]
Sujin appears to come from a very troubled household. Her father was the CEO of an illegal company, and her mother is depicted as abusive and uncaring. Her father was later caught by the police and arrested after finding out about his illegal business. Sujin locks herself up in her room and plays music to drown out her mother's yells. It is hinted that she has bulimia.
In the drama, Sujin comes from an abusive family but she has an abusive and strict father and she washes her hands to let off the steam. She was being forced to excel first place by her father.
Sujin has a very rocky relationship with both Seojun and Suho. Although no information has been given about their shared past, both Seojun and Suho act hostile towards her. She appears to have an unrequited attraction towards Suho, which is the main reason she is antagonistic towards Jugyeong. However, this isn't proven yet.
Personality[]
Sujin has a personality that is very difficult to like. The fact that she came from a problematic family, among other reasons, causes her to take out her frustration on those around her. She maintains a nice girl image in public and uses her beauty to manipulate others. When she discovered that Jugyeong and Suho became acquainted, Sujin quickly befriended Jugyeong to learn information both about her and her association with Suho. Viewing Jugyeong as her love rival, Sujin attempts to sabotage her both socially and romantically.
Though she has a bad attitude, Sujin is vulnerable and insecure about her past. She never opens up about her family life, and was horror-struck when she encountered her ex-friends. She is constantly fishing for compliments and assurances to reaffirm her beauty. After Junho (Sujin's abusive boyfriend) is arrested, she is a whole new person with a much more kind-hearted personality.
However, in the drama, Sujin was an energetic and nice friend to Jugyeong and Sua, and would use her bad girl attitude to protect herself or her friends from danger. She is childhood friends with Suho and has a crush on him. However, when she learned about Jugyeong and Suho dating and engaging them on a relationship, she betrayed Jugyeong by spreading the video of her being bullied at Yongpa high school. Seojun confronts her when he found out about her betrayal. Moreoever, at some point offscreen, her parents divorced so she dropped out of school, and served as a global volunteer. In the drama finale, realizing her mistakes, she witnessed Jugyeong being bullied by Chae-ni's manager and attempts to knock the bully, saving Jugyeong before deciding to apologize to Jugyeong for what she did. Sujin realized that things don't go the way that she wants so she was forgiven and they were friends again. Right there, Jugyeong has realized the pain that Sujin went through.
